As we drink copious cups of tea and sit as close as physically possible to the radiator on this cold, cold day, this bright & breezy behind-the-scenes film of our Spring-Summer 2012 Collection look book shoot is exactly what we need. Ruby Aldridge frolics in the West Sussex countryside, running in fields, showing us her (genuine) guitar skills, climbing walls and playing on the swings. Oh how we wish we were there right now.

Our latest pre collection has just launched on the MiH e-shop and we can honestly say we have never been so excited at the prospect of Autumn or Winter.  It’s hard to decide which piece we NEED more; the adorable Bowtie Shirt in Indigo Ditsy or the effortlessly cool Decade Skirt. We have managed to pry a few top secret images from Chloe’s moodboard to help you get as excited as we are.

Chloe's Mum, Chekkie Maskell, was the original model for MiH Jeans back in the 1970’s.  We think this makes her the perfect candidate to be the first of our ‘MiH Denim Icons’. Not many people can rock a simple pair of blue jeans and a white t-shirt better.

Gwyneth Paltrow has been top of our celebrity hit-list for years, so you can imagine our excitement having spotted her leaving Heathrow airport in a pair of our Marrakesh Jeans. GP is a bit of a hero at MiH HQ. We read her blog avidly, are obsessed by her work out method, never miss her appearances in Glee and love that she is best friends with Jay-Z and Beyonce. This picture really made our month.

Last weekend some of the MiH Team popped into OTTE, one of our favourite shops in New York. Owner Kay Lee took time out of her hectic day to chat to us about life as a boutique owner.

The first shop opened in Williamsburg, Brooklyn over 10 years ago and she now has three stores in Manhattan stocking a mixture of emerging and established contemporary designers (including MiH).

Where are you from and how did you decide to open stores in NYC?

I’m from Korea, but I came to New York 20 years ago.  I went to Parsons for Fashion Design and worked as a designer for 10 years.  I don’t have so much talent for the design but I do for business and merchandising.  So I took the next step.

Where did the Name OTTE come from?

It sounds like the Korean word for clothes.

What is the philosophy behind OTTE?

I’m a normal girl.  I’m not super trendy.  I follow trends, but I don’t like the jumping out of a magazine look.  I care about how many times I can wear something.  Is it timeless?  Is it comfortable?  And my customer understands that.

Can you describe OTTE in two words?

Timeless and feminine.
